If there is one thing I would suggest to Americans right now it is to repeat the following phrase: Out With The Old and In With The New.

Out With The Old and In With The New.

Out with the old thinking that there is no money for your business, for your dire straits, for your new idea.

L…O…O…K        A…G….A..I..N.

WHY? We have a new federal Administration with new funding plans, and an economic stimulus package that went into effect February 17, 2009.  What passed for fair just a year ago now is completely different. Pell grants have doubled in number and increased by $500. The amount rural farms can apply for in help with expanding their business has doubled. There are countless examples of  increases and improvements in grants, and these are certainly more available than ever before.

So many people who once upon a time looked into grants and gave up ARE NOW realizing these economic stimulus funds are ready and available.

This is entirely different. Different economic conditions call for new economic ideas. And there are funds available. Not just from the federal government directly but also from the county and state where you live. These areas have received their funds from the federal funds to stimulate growth in their specific community in ways they see best.

I have seen more “green” work available through grants than ever before. I have seen more funds just to help people keep up than ever, BY FAR.

I have seen new funds available for new ideas. It is time for us Americans to get up and get it. And by doing so help our community, our fellow Americans we can employ, and help our family.

Don’t really believe it? Girlgrants has decided to do a series on job-creating and “for-profit” funds that are available NOW. Things have changed and people need to look into it. All sorts of people who never even thought of applying are getting their grant and making great things happen, Take a look at our last article, getting Teens In On Environment.

Look at the following real-time example og grants used for “for-profit” business adn for “green” jobs.

In the Athens, Georgia community, the area’s commissioners have just allocated over $1M in federal economic stimulus money to their community.  How do you think they are using it? To fund some boring staff job for their office? No, sir. It is NOT going towards the same old same old.

It is being used to
* over half a million dollars to subsidize those who recently lost their jobs to avoid them losing their homes.

* nearly $400,000 to subsidize apartments for the already homeless in the area.

* over 150,000 to redevelop distressed property

* $50,000 to replace existing toilets with low-flow toilets, thus conserving energy

* $50,000 for small business start up

* $100,000 to retrain people for “green jobs” .

Now if you look, these funds are partially social service related and partially for-profit related. People are getting employment through these programs. Some are getting these contracts and thereby increasing their profit.  Real work for real funds. The work is needed and the funds from the federal government are there for the work to be done.

Some  of these funds are accomplishing two goals at once: in cases, the money is going to new employment AS WELL AS  greening up the community; in other cases they are helping towards business  start-pus as well as others expanding  and/or otherwise supporting the community. RIGHT NOW.

Are you getting the picture? There is money right NOW, available for the people who stand up first and take it. It is not forever and it may not even be here next year. Do some looking and see what is out there. there are many government grants sites, and even more regional grant sites. But  the funds here now and you could get in there and get some. Look into it NOW. Apply now
