CVS grants to Special Olympics
Who is CVS C.C.T.? It is a private foundation , namely CVS Charitable trust and CVS Caremark All Kids Program.
What is their objective?
To help children with disabilities by making ways for them to play and get some physical exercise, making available rehab and medical services, and getting schools and communities on board with no longer excluding these children from what was formerly inaccessible activity.
“” In today’s climate it’s more important than ever to support organizations that can have a positive impact on children with disabilities and their families,” said Eileen Howard Dunn, Senior Vice President, CVS Caremark Charitable Trust. “The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust selected these grant recipients because they align with our mission to promote inclusion, increase access to medical therapies and improve academic performance of children with disabilities.””
Whom have they gifted?
92 organizations around the nation that help support disabled children and under/un-insured children. Such as :NICU at Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, a transition care center for children; the Special Olympics; onprofits that offer sports and physical activity programs for children with disabilities.
How Much Have They Gifted on the disabled/un/under-insurd children in the Past?
IN the past 3 years they have focused on children with disabilities, now adding to it the under/un-insured children. They have a five year $25 Million commitment to gift to organiztions meeting the needs of these kinds of children across the country.
What Impact Has CVS Caremark Charitacle Trust Had? A recent analysis of their gifting determines that some 250,000 children aer positively impacted by their gifts.
Now let’s look at this for a moment. Firstly, stand up and clap for the gifts provided by CVS Caremark charitable Trust. Second, a general cheer for Private Foundations on the whole. Thirdly, time to examine what is going on. Admit it, wouldn’t it be fun.. to help that many children? Adults? Artists? Animals? uh.. “you name its”…?
Now think about this: Where did the funds go? To organizations and schools. Who established these? Peopl like you and me. What is the next gert idea out there for a foundation? What need do you see? What need have you thought about for years that ought to be addressed.. and you have even thought out some solutions just on your own? What would this project look like if you had others thinking on solutions with you? what if it were funded?
Well someone once upon a time thought that about disabled children and came up with the Special Olympics. Someone else thought about it and organized a non -profit movement to make it illegal to not have wheelchair access to buildings. Others have organized summer progrms for disabled, for the poor, etc..
Those people looked like you. Like me. Before they got started.
Here’s my challenge: sit back and sk yourself what your project would look like. What kind of help would it lend? To whom? Who do you know that would definitely get on board? Who would not get on board but would assist in the beginning? How many people’s lives would be changed because of your vision? How does it feel; this vison off teh ground and in action? Next Question: do you otice your smile? Two words: Get Started.
One way to get ideas flowing is to go check what grant money is being given out. There is mmuch money being given out to such an immense array of organizations. The governments, federal, state, county levels, all have needs that htye want to fund someone to take on.
it just might suit your vision. There is help to really get your search narrowed down, to get the grant written, to define what is required and who qualifies. use it to expedite your search. Until then, wander through the inernet halls of grant and private funding to let the thinking/vision juices flow.
The last person I remember saying this to, is now 24, and handing out New Shoes to children all over the country. Every day, he gives out shoes. New shoes. AND! gets to see the children happy as clams with their new shoes.
